Have you ever wasted time on meetings, discussions, Scrum events? It was a bit demotivating, wasn't it?  What do you think can improve the situation?

Possible suggestions can be:

  • All participants come in time;
  • Clear agenda;
  • Less off-topics and holywars;
  • Relevant expertise available among participants;
  • Better involvement and active listening;
  • Preparation for the discussion;
  • Presence of decision-making authorities;
  • Identification of action items and next steps;

It's far from being a full list of obstacles that prevents us from holding effective and resultful meetings. A good solution that can resolve many of the impediments is a meeting facilitation, and I would like to share with you several easy and powerful facilitation tips and tools that help to spend time on meetings more effectively, reach meeting goals quicker and with less confrontations.

We will practice several facilitation techniques and identify its limitations and benefits, we will choose the ones appropriate for particular situation and our style of facilitation. Each participant will have and opportunity to facilitate an event and get feedback from the group and the trainer. A great deal of practical exercises are gamified, so we will not only get new and useful information, but also have fun and spend enjoyable time together.
